Exeunt was our attempt to be together during the first pandemic lockdown in March-May 2020. We started from these questions: how do we spread knowledge among ourselves, as artists and creators, from a distance? How can we work together and separately? How do we contaminate each other in terms of ideas, sensibilities, artistic universes by meeting online? What is relevant as an artistic product in the context of a pandemic and planetary isolation? How do we relate to the audience in these conditions?
We performed live via livestream from home, the images were edited in real time. The narrations and music were pre-recorded.
Six people have been waiting, for a long time, for a future where they could meet and be together. Loneliness deepens and reveals nostalgia, anxieties, fears. Solitude forces them to discover new means of expression, which they will then have to give up. Exeunt (lat. exeo – they exit, frequently used as a direction in a play for the exit of a group of actors) will be for them the exit out of intimacy.
