The Paintbrush Factory, Cluj

A series of group walks taken with the aim of observing the dynamics of urban life in Cluj, in the frame of QR Fest. I proposed a method of participatory cartography, mapping the dynamics of three zones of the city, armed with a couple of questions and a couple of tools for recording: audio recording devices, photo cameras, tracking apps, chronometers, a pencil and a paper. During these walks taken together we collected artefacts (images, sounds, drawings, impressions) that we then returned to the city through a subjective map—a documentary snapshot of today’s Cluj—with which the audience could interact.
